Emyr Penry Trio – 27 August 2024

Hailing from the Cambrian mountains in West Wales, Emyr Penry Dance is a trumpeter and composer who combines the folkloric intention of his homeland with the spiritual jazz idiom. He has recently released a debut album titled ‘Cadair Idris’ with 7-piece folk-jazz collective, Awen Ensemble, which received wide acclaim from Mojo Magazine, Giles Peterson and Round Midnight’s Soweto Kinch. Emyr will be joined by fellow Awen Ensemble member and bassist Joe Wilkes, and guitarist Theo Black.
