Or something like that (I’ve got things to do!) The long and short of it is that The Noise Upstairs Todmorden is having a Christmas party on Christmas Eve and you’re all invited. We’ll hopefully feel like celebrating something, after Thursday, but that’s another story.

We won’t be doing our normal hat thing. However, bring your autoharps and Slayer bells and whatever else your culture celebrates Saturnalia with, for there will be collectively created improvised music – the third iteration of:

Expand hearing: new ears for new messages liberated from tradition, cut free from the guarantees of success. Reject the hierarchy of executive fluency. Consciously sail against the triple-wind of cost-benefit analysis, labour-saving technology and common sense best practice. Work with collective authenticity and gratuitous failure and get a feel for the edges of entrenched and invisible restrictions. Develop your miscompetence among allies and be recognised.
